Associate Professor Linda Corkery joined the Faculty in 1999 as Head of Program, Landscape Architecture having previously practiced in the United States, Hong Kong and Australia as a planner and landscape architect. She led the Program from 1999 to 2003 and then served as BE’s Head of School from 2004-2005.
While Head of School, she initiated BEOutThere! a special learning and teaching initiative designed to engage students and staff in undertaking interdisciplinary, service learning activities on local and international projects. Following a year as Associate Dean, International in 2006, Linda served as Director, International and Community Engagement. In 2010 she served as Acting Head of Discipline for the Planning, Landscape, Urban Design and Construction Management and Property discipline group. From 2012-2014, Linda again led Landscape Architecture as the Director of Discipline. During these years, the Program celebrated its 40th Anniversary.
In addition to her Faculty responsibilities, Linda chaired the Vice-Chancellor's Childcare Support Fund that supports women researchers (2008-2014). She participated in the Women Research 21 Program (2000); UNSW’s inaugural Academic Women in Leadership Program (2006); and served on the University Promotions Committee for Associate Professor from 2007-2009.
