About Us

The Emergent Digital Technologies Research Cluster has a focus on the development and application of digital technologies to examine, support, simulate and teach the planning, design, construction, management and utilisation of the built environment. It is intended to be an inclusive cluster to support anyone whose work touches that domain of interest.

We have the following specific objectives:

  1. to conduct leading edge and original research in to the development and application of digital technologies in the built environment
  2. to facilitate research and scholarship through cross-disciplinary collaboration and rigorous debate
  3. to provide a rich mentoring environment for research students, honours students and early career researchers
  4. to forge strong inter-disciplinary (campus-wide), national and international research connections, with both industry and community partners where appropriate
  5. to disseminate and report our research through high-quality publications.
  6. The intended outcome is to raise awareness of the role of digital technologies in the built environment and to make our research in this domain highly visible and widely respected within the research community.
