Spatial Modelling and Urban Information Technology

This emerging Program aims to capitalise on the centre’s interest in GIS and 3D urban modeling established through several recent ARC Linkage projects. Importantly, the centre, through Professor Randolph, has played a key role in development of the Federal government ‘Super Science’ funded $20m Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) initiative and will seek to develop a key role in this network as part of the plan to expand our interests in this area. 

At present, the centre houses a comprehensive set of urban data based on the Sydney metropolitan area which forms the basis of much of our research on the Sydney region.
