This year, UNSW Sydney together with Government Architect New South Wales (GANSW) will feature in the fourth edition of the Venice Biennale Architecture exhibition. The exhibition titled Time Space Existence will present a wide selection of works from architects, photographers, sculptors and universities from all over the world.

UNSW will bring to Venice a snapshot of Sydney’s multicultural and rapidly evolving inner western suburbs in an exhibition titled Looking for Love on the Sydenham to Bankstown Line.

The exhibition combines projects from the Architecture program at UNSW and GANSW and presents speculative proposals informed by the richness and diversity of the area, proposals that challenge the status quo in terms of ownership, occupation and finance, along with policies and projects that champion and illustrate the increasingly vital role of design and design-led planning in the creation of our cities. The work of local photographers will document the diversity of the existing communities and evidence of the urban transformation taking shape.

The 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale is open to the public from 26 May – 25 November.
