Q&A with Harry Crosely
Contracts Administrator at Rohrig NSW Pty Ltd
Graduation year: 2017
Q. Tell us a little about your current role.
A.
Contracts Administrator on projects ranging from $250K to $12M. Focused on the commercial sector, specifically on Hospitality & Mixed Use Development refurbishment and new builds.
Q. How did your degree prepare you for the workforce?
A.
My time at UNSW prepared me to think outside the box that you would typically find in employment-only training. I found the Law and Engineering subjects especially valuable for application in the workforce.
Q. What is the most valuable thing you took away from your time at UNSW?
A.
Learning to work as part of a team of people with different personality type and skill sets to deliver a project within a specific time frame was extremely valuable to success within the construction industry. There was also a lot of valuable technical construction knowledge to be gained about industry sectors that I would not typically experience in my current role.
Q. Do you have any advice for current Built Environment students?
A.
Make the most of your time at university, go to all the networking events, do a specialisation and masters, work while you study and just generally get your name out there in the industry. This will leave you in the best position when you graduate.
