Graduate Certificate

The Graduate Certificate in City Analytics provides you with a unique offering, upskilling the next generation of practitioners and policy-makers with the ability to harness the power of data-driven approaches for understanding the inherent complexity of the city.

The Graduate Certificate in City Planning degree is designed for students with an undergraduate qualification in a related discipline seeking to move into a planning or planning-related field.

In the Graduate Certificate in Construction Project Management students learn about project management principles and techniques needed to effectively manage large construction projects. 

The Graduate Certificate program is suited to practicing personnel in relevant fields including building, construction management, construction economics, civil engineering, mining engineering, project management, quantity surveying, real estate or equivalent, who wishes to enhance their career opportunities.

The Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Built Environment is an advanced interdisciplinary coursework program which enables graduates from a wide range of backgrounds to develop and consolidate their knowledge and skills in the application of the principles of sustainable development to the planning, design, construction and management of the built environment. 

The Graduate Certificate Program offers foundational study in the field of Urban Development and Design for non-cognate disciplines and is a pathway to the Master of Urban Development and Design.

Urban Renewal and Housing is the first program of its kind in Australia. Drawing on local and international perspectives it will encompass both policy and practice in these realms, drawing wider linkages with urban studies and planning agendas.

The Graduate Certificate of Urban Policy and Strategy program utilises a number of different teaching strategies including studios, master classes, problem-based learning, case studies and field trips, consulting projects with clients, and evidence-based research.

This program provides students with an opportunity to choose four courses from four related postgraduate Master's degrees at UNSW Faculty of Built Environment: Master of Urban Policy and Strategy, Master of Urban Renewal and Housing, and Master of Sustainable Built Environment. Two courses from the Master of City Analytics are also available.

The Master of City Planning is structured to offer you the option of either developing your general planning knowledge or – through your elective options and selected focus of your Planning Project – pursuing specialisations in City Renewal and Development, City Design, History or Theory, and Healthy, Sustainable Communities.

The Master of Construction Project Management degree will teach you modern management methodologies and principles of project management and apply them across the various phases of the construction project development life-cycle.

 

As a student in the UNSW Master of Landscape Architecture program, you will engage with the Sydney region as your landscape laboratory.

The Master of Property and Development program is for professionals wanting to upskill and interested in a career in development, investment and management of property and infrastructure or any professions that serve this industry.

The Master of Sustainable Built Environment degree will enhance your knowledge and skills in applying the principles of sustainable development to the planning, design, construction and management of the 21st-century city.

Master of Urban Policy and Strategy is a multidisciplinary degree links the study of urban design with the processes of urban development.

The Master of Urban Policy and Strategy is designed to create leaders in urban transformations of our cities.

The Urban Renewal and Housing program is designed to cater for those looking to enter or advance a career in the urban policy or practitioner space – whether in state or local government, in consultancy, in social or private enterprise settings.

Master Extension

The Master of City Analytics (Extension) provides you with a unique offering, upskilling the next generation of practitioners and policy-makers with the ability to harness the power of data-driven approaches for understanding the inherent complexity of the city.

The Master of Urban Development and Design (Extension) is design studio based, multi-disciplinary and includes a compulsory field trip and workshop in a major international city.
