On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of landscape architecture in Australia, UNSW alumnus Richard Weller, now Chair of Landscape Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Pennsylvania will offer a wide-ranging lecture concerning contemporary landscape architecture and urban design as seen through the lenses of his iconoclastic design and research projects.
Professor Richard Weller
Richard Weller is the Martin and Margy Meyerson Chair of Urbanism and Professor and Chair of Landscape Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania where he leads a department perceived by many to be the pre-eminent generator of landscape architectural innovation and advancement. He is also Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Australia and former Director of the Australian Urban Design Research Centre and with Vladimir Sitta the design firm Room 4.1.3. He has received a consistent stream of international design competition awards at all scales of landscape architecture and urban design. He has published 4 books and over 80 single-authored papers and is the Creative Director of the interdisciplinary journal of landscape architecture LA+.
