Malay Dave

High performance prefab housing: towards an evaluation framework for design, sustainability and affordability

This thesis examines the role of design in delivering high performance (affordability and sustainability) in prefab housing and through a three-pronged mixed methods design clarifies the nature of relationship between affordability and sustainability. It develops a novel evaluation framework and demonstrates its practical application and effectiveness in comparative performance evaluation.
