Proposing a collaborative system to optimize role of social procurement to provide innovative solutions to youth unemployment in Australia: a social network perspective

This study focuses on the potential of social procurement in the Australian construction industry to address the country’s youth unemployment problem. Using social network theories as a conceptual lense and employing a mixed method approach of surveys, focus groups and shadowing, data will be collected regarding current practices in the Australian construction industry. A pragmatic and befitting collaborative system will be proposed for practising social procurement to optimize its results as well as recommendations for reforms in regulatory framework and public policies.
