Sarbeswar Praharaj is delving into the policy and governance issues around smart cities in South Asia for his thesis “Enabling smart city transformation in emerging economies: India's 100 smart cities mission”. Supervised by Dr Scott Hawken and Associate Professor Hoon Han, he is deploying a robust statistical methodology for indicator-based classification of 100 selected cities in India.
The research outcomes support evidence-based selection of policies by public agencies, replacing the current ad-hoc policy making practices in smart cities.
