Postgraduate Research Student

Sardar Karim’s thesis, ‘Co-benefits of low carbon policies in the built environment: An Australian investigation into local government co-benefits policies’, investigates how policy-makers at local government level consider non-climate-related benefits (known as ‘co-benefits’) of climate-related policies. For this research project, supervised by Professor Susan Thompson and Mr Peter Williams, Karim has surveyed and interviewed policy-makers at councils across New South Wales.
Findings provide understanding about how to integrate co-benefits effectively into policy process to increase uptake of low carbon policies at local government level.
