The Elderly Immigrants in Australia and Their Left-Behind Counterparts in China: A Comparison of Mobility Decision, Living Arrangement, and Intergenerational Exchange

Xueying Xiong is aiming to investigate the decisions of elderly Chinese people to either stay in China or to move to Australia where their adult children have already immigrated, and to compare living arrangements and inter-generational exchange under these two choices.
Her thesis “The elderly immigrants in Australia and their left-behind counterparts in China: A comparison of mobility decision, living arrangement, and intergenerational exchange” is being supervised by Associate Professor Hoon Han and Professor Bruce Judd.
