Dr Kate Bishop is Associate Professor in the School of Built Environment at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Her background in environment-behaviour research underpins her teaching and research. Her particular areas of interest include: children, youth and environments; technology, people and place; participatory urban planning and design and social urban and regional design. Kate worked in private industry and NSW state government before becoming an academic.

Kate's own areas of research reflect her interests in the relationship between people and place. Drawing on the theoretical traditions of environment-behaviour research, Kate explores the relationship between the physical environment and social experience. She has a particular interest in the experience of children and young people. Additional areas of research interest include: smart social spaces; people, place and urban design; landscape urban research.

My Teaching
