Fatemeh is currently an Associate Lecturer (Ed-focused) in the program of Landscape Architecture and a Research Associate in the City Futures Research Centre. Her area of research interest is children’s environments. She has the experience of designing and researching school environments with a particular interest in inclusive school design and participatory methodologies in research with children. She holds a PhD from the University of New South Wales in Environment-Behaviour research and her Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Architecture from the University of Tehran, Iran. Her PhD project explores the role of in-between spaces within outdoor school environments in children’s expression of agency.

Since 2015, Fatemeh tutored students in both elective and core courses, run by the Faculty of Built Environment in different programs including City Planning, Urban Development and Design, Architecture and Landscape Architecture. Prior to her PhD studies, she was a research assistant working on low-energy schools and the context and design of traditional schools in Iran. She has a couple of years of experience in practice in Hermpey Consulting Engineering as a landscape architect.
